UA Class of '77 wins "Spirit of UA Reunion Float"
Congratulations were in order to our own Ted Wolford who was honored for 25 amazing years as Lacrosse Head Coach at UAHS, including TWENTY THREE years playing for the Ohio Championship (winning 16!).
UPPER ARLINGTON -- They came in droves Sunday afternoon to thank Ted Wolford for his impact in their lives. The Upper Arlington High School's annual alumni lacrosse game attracted 120 former players who were told something special was going to happen. Following the game, the current Golden Bear lacrosse team removed a massive tarp from the field, revealing the newly named Ted Wolford Field at Marv Moorehead Stadium. "This game and this community has given me so much more than I've given to it," Wolford told ABC-6 Sunday following the game and ceremony. At the helm of the UA lacrosse program since 1992, Coach Wolford grew the game of lacrosse in the Midwest. Sure he won, won big totaling 16 Div. I State Championships and 10 Midwest Titles. He developed and coached 43 high school All-Americans, over 100 players went on to play college lacrosse including 11 NCAA All-Americans, five NCAA Academic All-Americans and six who claimed collegiate National Championships.
